Menebar Kebaikan & Merajut Kebersamaan di LKSA Yusoli Jakarta Selatan

We are Team 1 from Universitas Indonesia, proud participants of the 2025 Mutualplus Scholarship Program. With great enthusiasm and a strong sense of responsibility, we are eager to share joy and create positive impact through a series of social activities. Our group consists of five members: Davina, Jessica, Nadra, Sekar, and Syifa. This initiative is our way of showing compassion and making a real contribution to society, particularly to the elderly at Yayasan Ukhuwah Sosial Lestari (Yusoli).

Yusoli is a Social Welfare Institution that has been active since 1989, serving as a facilitator for various social activities. Although it does not provide permanent residence for children or the elderly, Yusoli continues to support and empower vulnerable groups in the community. Yusoli runs two key programs: Non Panti Sosial Asuhan Anak (NPSAA) and Pusat Asuh Keluarga (PUSAKA 99). These programs serve orphans and underprivileged children (81 individuals), the elderly (around 50 individuals), and people with disabilities including the visually impaired, individuals with Down syndrome, and the hearing impaired (about 47 individuals). Under the leadership of Haji Yusuf, Yusoli continues to distribute aid and donations despite facing limitations in operational support.

Through the social activities we have designed, we aim to bring happiness and warmth to the elderly supported by Yusoli. Our program includes reflective storytelling sessions, a potted plant workshop, decorative painting on woven trays, and various mini games. These activities are not only intended to entertain but also to strengthen emotional bonds, inspire a zest for life, and create joyful memories for the elderly participants.

We have chosen the theme "Spreading Kindness, Weaving Togetherness" as a reflection of the core purpose of this initiative. "Spreading Kindness" represents the spirit of sharing and social care for those in need because by helping others, we not only benefit them but also enrich our own lives. "Weaving Togetherness" symbolizes the importance of building strong social connections, especially with the elderly, through warm interactions, sincere attention, and the love we share throughout the program.

Through this Mutualplus Social Project, which is part of the 2025 Mutualplus Scholarship Program, we hope to make a tangible impact on Yusoli, both emotionally and socially. This experience will also be a valuable journey for us as young generation. We hope that this program can inspire more people to help others, foster a more caring society, and strengthen the spirit of mutual cooperation for a better future.
